A Realm Reborn: Fully Rebuilt & Keeping Players Hooked

As many of you know, Final Fantasy XIV is now truly a realm reborn, having been fully rebuilt from the ground up to improve many aspects of the game. A load of new content is available centering on the concept of rebirth.

Since the August 27th launch of A Realm Reborn, Square Enix has been busily updating the game with new content and features to keep players hooked. Whatever they're doing is working, because in the first two months post-launch registration has grown to over 1.5 million!

Indeed, that number includes players across the globe in North America, Europe, Japan, and PAL territories on both PC and PS3. Related to that, the PS4 beta program will commence on February 22, 2014 for those interested in testing out FFXIV on the next-gen console.

Lightning is gracing the city-states with her presence soon, and in addition to that there's a lot more in store for FFXIV lovers. Coming later this year for PvP fans is The Wolves' Den. Unveiled at TGS 2013, the video above shows off the upcoming player battle arena which will allow for 4v4 matches.

The Duty Finder will match together players of similar strength, and you can even join with your friends! PvP will be accessible for players up to level 30, 40, and 50, and special PvP actions like recovery from sleep, bind, and other enfeeblement effects will ensure an amusing time for all involved.

Players can also expect the Housing system later this year, as well as:

  • The new Primal Battle: Good King Moggle Mog XII
  • Extreme Mode Primal Battles
  • New dungeons including Pharos Sirus
  • Treasure Hunting
  • Hard Mode Boss Battles
  • Beastmen Daily Quests
  • The Crystal Towers (Fans of FFIII will be eager to visit that one)
  • Winter festivities
Have friends on another server and don't want to start all over again? No worries, because the new World Transfer Service now allows players to transfer their characters to another world! Multiple characters on one server can be transferred to a single world at once with this service, at a cost of $18 per use. More details can be found at this post.
