Posted Jan 7, 2012Love, love, love this add-on! I am baffled why there aren't more downloads to this one. It works perfectly and feels like something that should have been included with the game.
I play a mage who is not yet very powerful. Load the add-on, Once you reach 25 in Destruction skill, buy the fire, frost & lightning runes from Farengar Secret-Fire in Dragonsreach or Faralda at the College of Winterhold. Plan where to place the runes when anticipating a difficult foe and stack the runes on top of each other. Note that you can place the same rune with both hands to make it more powerful, or place different kinds of runes on top of each other to increase the damage. I can throw 3 single runes then have to wait on magicka to restore before throwing a couple more runes for good measure. The entrances to hallways or tunnels are awesome places because enemies have to run over the runes to get to me. After finishing the set-up and waiting for magicka to restore, SAVE your game. Aggro with a Familiar or bow shot and retreat to a safe distance to prep your next spells. Often the runes are enough to take out a couple of foes--or at least make it manageable for me to finish them off. Destruction magic skill often increases and I'm not dead. Yea!
The downsides are that I have to manage my henchie (as in use the 'wait here' command far enough back for her to avoid the collateral damage or she will invariably turn into a pile of ash--which is why the Save point for reloading is especially important) and my flame atronach will set off the runes at the most inopportune times (hence why the use of the Familiar or bow). Kudos and thank you to the developer of the add-on.
