No problem, no problem : it's 'just' WoW, you know ^^. Maybe just a way of reverting the part concerning that eye with it's previous version ?

Good luck with your work anyway ! Cheers !

(Opening a new separate message, for clarity's sake)

Unfortunately, I've encountered another fly in the coding soup, and a bigger one that is :

You remember the comments about the "dungeon/battleground group finder" ? The one frame which people liked while it was movable ^^ ? Well, the new version (nicely put under the tracking button) causes troubles somehow... I've tried queuing for battlegrounds ("Alterac Valley" for example), but wanted afterwards to cancel the group research... and got immediately the same dreaded bug as with Dominos Units : "X - Dominos Minimap (here) or Dominos Units - tries to accomplish an action only available for Blizzard's default UI". With the choice to either 'disable' it or 'ignore' it... But Dominos Units returns that message upon launching a research ; Dominos Minimap (now) does it when someone tried to cancel their participation. This happens only with battlegrounds though, not with dungeons.

But that's not the end of it... Seeing that, I clicked on 'disable', having no other choice to cancel the research... and my UI reloaded without the addon... All right... But I was 'still' in the queue after that ! No eye appeared attached to the default minimap, but clicking (to start a new research for example) in the "Battlegroup group searcher" would return a "One of your character is already attempting a research..." and clicking on "Alterac Valley" (the same map) wouldn't neither start a new request, nor interrupt the first one !

I tried to log out, to quit the game, to load no addon at all, to load only "Dominos Minimap", to load all addons except this one... It didn't change anything : I was still in a queue, and the glowing eye would show only with "Dominos Minimap" activated. No way to get out ^^ ! And no lua error at all... I hope you'll understand that better than me ^^ !

      Cheers !

Great ! I'll wait to test the new version then !

For me, the only problem for now, and it's minor ^^, is the width of the Target frame, as stated above. I've taken screenshots on Imgur to show you...

      Cheers !

      Greetings !

I've just started using this nice addon, very helpful indeed. Personally, it's not the Player frame I'ld like to see improved like this - since the restriction in size for the character's names, there's no chance to really need anything longer... -, but the "Focus" frame, because it suffers from the same problem as the target's one.

In your (screenshot) example above, "Lady Jaina Proudmoore" would end splitted in two the moment someone focuses on her (and who wouldn't ^^ ?!), which is a shame ^^...

Thanks for your work anyway ! Cheers !

  • posted a message on Easy Frames

      Greetings (or 'Priviet' ^^ !),

I've just started using your addon and I'm quite impressed ! Of course, there are a few problems - I've opened issues on CurseForge for that -, but it still really feels like a 'labor of love', with a lot of care for small simple details... I didn't knew about GhettonFrames, but this is probably the only good 'vanilla-improved' unit frame on Curse right now ! So I'm really thankful to you !

I really appreciated it's compatibility with other addons :

      1) It's possible to improve the unit's portraits with "Adapt" ( https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/project-2341 ).

      2) Class colors can be changed with... well... "Class Colors" ^^ ( https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/classcolors ).

      3) The locations and scales of both Player & Target frames can be easily changed with Leatrix Plus ( https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/leatrix-plus ).

The only thing which doesn't work well, but it's not your fault - Blizzard's default UI already suffered from that - is the small size of the Target frame, regarding the place left for the Target's name : they aren't limited in characters, like the players names, and (because of that) are often far too long to fit in the default frame, even if you modify its scale. With a "Training Dummy" for example, more than '11' will give you "Training Dum...", which is a bit annoying...

There is a great simple addon called "Wide Target" ( https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/wide-target ) which solves the problem ( https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/wide-target#t1:screenshots ), but it doesn't work well with yours : your custom frames (hp, mp, borders & background, etc.) don't match correctly, which leaves black spaces instead... If it was possible to change the scale of those frames, maybe it could work, but not for now...

Thank you a lot for your work anyway ! Cheers !

      Greetings !

I've just started using Prat, trying to understand a bit what does what, but I'm getting several lua error messages, the first one directly after loading the ui, the others when clicking or altering its parameters in the Interface section ; the last one is specific to the "Substitution" module.

Desactivating both the "Channel Sticky" and "Substitution" modules seems to solve the problem - no error messages left after that -, which is fine to me, as I didn't want to use them. But it's still worth reporting...

In fact, I've first suspected a mess with "BasicThreatBar" (an addon I'm testing) and its ACEGUI libraries, which are mentionned several times in those errors, but after I deactivated it, the same errors returned but concerning "Dominos" this time, then (after disabling this one) with another, etc. In the end, the lua errors always involve the same ACEGUI files (and lots of addons installed have them), but no addon in particular. So the only method to get rid of those (though they don't seem to really bother...) seemed to desactivate the concerned modules.

As a second miror report, clicking on the upper or lower scrolling buttons in Prat seems to bring the dreaded troubles caused by update 7.3's way of handling sound files... So I had to quote ( -- ) lines 814, 815 and 816 of Originalbuttons.lua, in the module folder. Just a temporary measure...

Lastly, as a simple suggestion, I've noticed your "TellTarget" module, which is nice, but didn't see a "WhisperTarget" (/wt), something I had with "BasicChatMods" for example. Does it exist in Prat ? And if not, would it be hard to implement ? As, at least in my opinion, it's even more useful than /tt ...

Edit : Sorry for spamming such a long message. I've moved the lua errors in a 'spoiler' frame and opened an issue on Wowace.

Thanks for your work anyway ! Cheers !

Thanks for such a fast answer, but don't feel on a hurry ^^ ! All this, from a gamer's perspective, is quite minor and doesn't prevent the addon from working...  I'm just facing this because I'm testing loads and loads of different values, but the average user will probably only see this once, and only if he has the lua error console activated. So take your time ^^ !

Anyway, I can provide you a list of addons, but since :

      1) I've tested yours alone, without anything else, I doubt there are compatibility issues. I've rechecked it a minute ago... Lua errors a) and b) come from your "VSI" panel (when opening advanced settings), which I still have to understand the usefulness... While lua errors c), d) and e) come from your clock component. Finally, the 'false' messages, in the chat box, appear a soon as one modifies some core parameters, such as the 'scale' or 'minimap scale'... Strangely, ticking 'Show in pet battle' returns a 'true' instead of a 'false' ^^... I hope this will make sense for you.

      2) My addon list varies from one day to another, since I'm still changing lots of things on a daily basis... The only identified culprit is "Leatrix Plus", which indeed adds this worldmap button in the upper right corner. A undocumented option, I guess... Or could it be, since there 'is' already a worldmap button in the default blizzard interface, that Leatrix Plus enforces it back, overriding your addons action ? Anyway, except that, all troubles occur even without anything else activated.

      Cheers !

      Greetings !

I've just started to use your excellent addon, which (taking in account all aspects) really seems the best I've tried so far, so I wanted to congratulate you for it ! I've read here that you no longer play WoW, but be sure that lots of people must appreciate deeply your continuing efforts related to such great tools !

Thanks a lot for your work ! I didn't try yet any of your other projects, but can only hope they'll receive one day the same care... Cheers !

      Greetings again !

I've now tested a bit your new version... It's much better - some buttons still disappear sometimes (the Dominos one for example, activated or not in the interface menu), but the right-cliking option does bring them back most often - and the tracking & calendar buttons frames are now correctly drawed. I also appreciated that the (useless) zoom button's gone ^^ ! The worldmap one, on the contrary, always remains in the upper right corner, detached from the minimap, which is a minor (esthetical) nuisance...

As a simple suggestion, allowing to select which buttons appears or blending the calendar with the tracking one - lots of other addons allow that and you can activate one or another with your left or right click - would be even better. I now combine "Minimap Button Bag" with yours and the association works well...

That said, I'm affraid there are still flies around ^^ :

      1) The global frame of the minimap doesn't correspond to its blue zone in 'configuration mode' - it's larger, most of the time -, meaning it may (as it's the case for me) cover part of some bars near it even if everything looks fine in 'configuration mode'.

      2) I second methodcrush's remark : the useful dungeon eye's frame is gone ^^... and you were probably the only one here to (unknowingly ^^ !) propose that ^^ !

      3) I still don't get at all what the "VSI" frame is about...

      4) I keep getting lua errors like those :

From what I understand, they're related either to clock problems, either to widgets & minimap buttons errors...

      5) The chat also displays "false" each time I try to modify settings about the minimap, its scale for example. From what I understand, there's still (from the beginning) something wonky about the way the two scales (the addon's one, including borders, and the image/texture of the minimap's one) are combined, which generates problems each time their settings are changed (and especially with non-default ones).

      6) I haven't experimented the 'pet battle' bug again, but need more tests about that...

None of those above are critical : everything still 'works'... But it's worth reporting for your 'to do' list ^^...

Thanks a lot for your work anyway ! Cheers !

Yes, indeed. I used "Playsoundfixer" and was able to put '--' in front of the culprit, which came from one of the Ace libraries in your addons folders. Sorry : as I corrected loads of similar errors the same night, I don't remember which one exactly... "AceGUI-3.0", if I remember correctly, but I'm not 100% sure.

      Cheers !
