Essentially Clique and other addons (including healbot and decursive) that allow you to click-to-cast assign macros to each frame that are run when you click on the frame. This means that they do work in-combat but they have the same limitations as normal macros. An addon can only change the macros on a frame out of combat.

For a more in-depth discussion of what is and isn't possible in a macro, see Cogwheel's Macro Guide: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3881820910&sid=1

You can't have cure poison and heal bound to the same click. Addons cannot decide which spell to cast for you in-combat.

The next release will restore old functionality that prevented debuffs that were added by name from triggering the associated debuff type status. So you'd be able to add "Arcane Blast" as a debuff and then not display it anywhere to prevent it from triggering the magic debuff status.

I personally think you should be using Clique or mouse-over casting, but the 5-man layouts will return to sorting by index in the next release.

You get one or two lines of text with Grid. Double-check the statuses you have assigned to each text indicator and their priorities.

    Now there's a use-case I hadn't thought of.

Create a ticket [http://www.wowace.com/projects/grid/tickets/ over here] and I'll see how easy that would be to implement. If it's too complicated you may be out of luck.

I'm sorry if I came off as angry, that was not my intent.

Parties are now using the same code as raid groups which makes things much simpler for me to maintain. Because of this, pets must be displayed next to the players rather than below them.

It would not be easy to hide the pet group when there are no pets because if a pet appears while you are in-combat Grid would not be able to show the pet group until you are out of combat.

The aggro status switched from using Banzai which scans the targets of everyone in your party/raid to using the Blizzard-provided threat api which as you noted, only notifies you of other players threat statuses when you yourself are also in combat. Using the Blizzard threat api allows the aggro status to be more efficient and it gives you more detail regarding a units threat value. I believe it can also tell you if someone has aggro from a mob that is not currently targeted by anyone in your party/raid.
