    I regret to announce that I will be unable to continue development of Karuul Alert at this time. I've had some unexpected life things happen that has caused me to all but stop gaming due to time constraints. As such any extras such as addon development is near impossible for me to do. I hope in the future to be able to get back into it but I don't want to leave everyone hanging wondering what was happening until then.

    My latest code is up there and I'm more than happy to add someone as a co-developer on RiftUI and Curse if someone would like to step up and take over Karuul Alert development in my absence.

    I will try to check in from time to time to help and answer questions when I can but I just don't know how often that will be.

    So if you are an addon developer and would like to dabble in Karuul Alert send me a PM on either RiftUI or Curse and we can work out the details.

    One again I am sorry for having to step away from this as I am really appreciative of how well received Karuul Alert was and how supportive the community has been.

    Thank you for your interest in the addon. I've included with the addon in the KaruulAlert\help folder a document that describes each control and how to use it. I've also spent a fair amount of time creating an in game help file that you can access through the addon's menu bar. In general one of those should be the first place you look for info on how to do something with the addon. In your case in the Image Settings section you will see how to use custom icons/images.

    There are a couple of things that could be causing that.

    First, if this is not your first time using the addon you could already have a lot of abilities already loaded. Once an ability is loaded it is stored globally and can be used on all your characters. Second, if you imported any alerts those associated abilities will be added to the global list automatically so the ability scanner won't find them as new abilities because they are already there. Third, there is now a passive ability scanner always running so even if this is the first time you've loaded the addon it's possible that the passive scanner has already picked up all the abilities. And finally, as there were complaints about ability report spam I have disabled outputting abilities to the chat windows by default. If you want to see abilities show up in chat as they are found run the "/kalert debug" command and all added/updated abilities will be written to the chat window.

    Now with that said the easiest way to see if any abilities were found is to select Buff type and then in the Buff: box start typing the ability you are looking for. A dropdown will show up with all the abilities that could match what you are typing. Just keep in mind the lookup is case sensitive so if you are looking for "Void" typing "void" will not show you any results.

    With all that said, if you are still having issue getting abilities to be recognized let me know what abilities are not working and I will take a look and try to figure out why.

    The close button has been replaced with the standard Rift close button. So it is the red circle with the x in it at the top right of the window.

    No, you don't have anything wrong. It is either a bug on Trion's side or they just don't want us to know the remaining duration of the Wild Growth buff. The buff itself is reporting no duration so you are seeing a 0. You can track the buff to see when it's active, but unfortunately the timer won't really do anything for you because the game is telling me that the buff is active but has no duration.

    You sure can. Take a look at the in addon help for complete details. To get to the help on the menu bar select Help->Contents. The Slash commands are in the Command Line section.

    Here is the alert that I setup that only triggers for the 8 second Pyromancer's Armor.

     

    PA-Cinder Burst;1;T;player;1;T;F;F;Pyromancer's Armor;a000000000470C32D;8;1;F;F;0;0;Rift;Data/\UI\ability_icons\arcaneshield4.dds;935;158;48;48;1;1;;CENTER;1;;1;1;1;30;T;F;CENTER;30;T;6;F

     

    You should just be able to go to File->Import Alert and paste the text string into the box and hit the import button. If that alert still doesn't work for you please export the alert you were originally having issues with and post/send it to me and I will take a look and see what I can figure out.

    P.S. For whatever reason you may not be able to directly copy and paste the string provided. I was able to copy the string into notepad and then recopy it from there and paste it into rift. I'm guessing because Curse formats the string and doesn't have it as plain text and Rift blocks/chokes on it.
