It's happened to me for as long as I can remember, across years of using it (so obviously multiple versions) and with or without other addons.

There are multiple things that happen, never really the same thing twice, so "bugged out" is the best i can come up with. An example is on the load conditions tab and I select a talent spec after checking the respective box to enable that option. The page (the content loaded by that tab, not the left-hand list of auras, just that area) becomes distorted, the form elements duplicate beneath, think of it as a segment of the page looping over and over downwards; it's almost like a screen error on a phone, it genuinely looks that distorted.

It's always some form of distortion like that or just nothing; the area is blank. I can close and re-open the GUI and it does nothing. Sometimes I'll get an LUA error message box with it (I run Swatter, I don't know if that box is default UI or not) but I usually won't. This will persist until I reload UI.

I can continue using WeakAuras without reloading UI, just not that one aura. If I'm modifying "Aura A" and this happens on the Trigger tab, I can continue working on other auras; I'll just need to reload to be able to continue on "Aura A".

I assumed this happened to other people just because there is no specific condition on my end. I have been through multiple versions of WA, on multiple computers, playing multiple toons, on multiple WoW accounts on multiple WoW builds through multiple EXPANSIONS, I've had multiple sets of addons running alongside it and even no addons, I've even had it happen on multiple operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, multiple versions of OSX).

If it's genuinely not happening to *anybody* else then I'm completely stumped as the only constant here is that it's my account and I'm the person physically using the machine; that's it. Honestly, I've got to assume it happens more frequently than realized but most people just don't take the time to report it, especially considering it's fixed by a reload. I think most people that have an addon bug out turn to "reload my UI" as the first possible solution, and when it works they just shrug it off; the percentage of people willing to leave a comment, let alone go to another site and submit an official but report, has got to be incredibly low. Add to that the fact that people are even less likely to report an issue that they can fix (albeit temporarily) via a reload UI, and it's gotta be even less. I mean, we all know that people are tremendously more likely to leave a comment or post a bug report if an issue genuinely prevents them from using the addon or playing the game, but otherwise I can't imagine there being a 1 to 1 ratio of reports to actual occurences.

if you can help me figure out how this would happen for so long across so many different variables I'd be happy to listen, but otherwise logic kinda dictates that it can't be isolated to me unless there's some other contributing factor I flat-out have not considered.

Edit: I can take a screenshot the next time it happens, if you'd like. I didn't plan on any extensive WA work in the next few days and it only happens once I've been playing around with things in there for a decent amount of time, but I can re-make the aura that bugged out my install (the issue in my original comment) to occupy some time and snap a screenshot when it inevitably bugs out again, requiring a reload. Would that help at all?

An update - I went in my weakauras lua file (the one in the base savedvariables directory) and manually went through it, editing out the new group I had created, the references to the auras within it, and those auras themselves. I was fairly sure it was just one specific aura within the group (the one that had the UI error causing the initial reloadui) but I removed the entire thing to be safe, as it was something I was just building for the hell of it and didn't need.

It resolved the issue. This is still somewhat alarming, though - it means that there is currently a possibility that while making an otherwise normal weakaura a user can potentially corrupt their entire weakauras installation requiring them to lose EVERYTHING if they don't know how to manually remove that aura. That's a huge, huge deal.

Just for transparency, I was making a weakauras group that displayed text based on the equipment set I was using at the time. There was a group, a weakaura within called "Label" that was just text saying "Label:" (that the other auras were placed next to) and then a few simple weakauras with a single trigger of "if equipment set equals blah". I hadn't even gotten to the load conditionals yet for spec, class, etc.

The "Label" aura, also named only "Label", was the one that caused this. While modifying it the weakauras UI "bugged out". It's something that happens quite often and has for years and years, but has always been resolved with a reload. The form elements will get out of whack and will be duplicated/distorted all over the place, or (as in this case) the left-side content area will be completely blank for that aura until you reload. In this case, when I reloaded UI in order to fix the issue this problem happened.

I have a backup of the ORIGINAL file, before I applied the fix, if you'd like me to determine where the issue was specifically. If removing the auras fixed this, it's pretty clear that somewhere in their text entries lied the issue. If you'd like I can supply the file or go through it myself to see what happened. Maybe there's some sort of syntax error that then bugged everything else out? The way things happened, how every single aura displayed as error'd out, leads me to believe the data had been corrupted due to a misplaced bracket or comma or something leading to every other aura in the file having information in the wrong place. I don't know if I'm describing that very well but anybody with programming experience should understand what I'm saying; like if you have information separated by commas, removing one comma distorts the meaning of the entire file.

Was making a very basic WeakAura, basic trigger, nothing complex - the UI bugged out a bit as happens somewhat often, so I did a reload UI to fix it (as I always do). Once reloaded back in, every single WeakAura I have is displayed, except with error icons and the text "error" for progress bars, etc - even auras for other toons that are disabled. EVERYTHING.

I tried to /wa, and get an LUA error. I disabled the addon and then re-enabled it, same thing. Quit the game, disabled all other addons. Same thing. Reinstalled WeakAuras. Same thing. Something messed up while making this aura that must have corrupted something along the way, but I simply cannot justify resetting and losing the HUNDREDS of WeakAuras I have made over the years. It would literally be so devastating that I would probably quit playing before making them all again, that's how much my UI relies on them.

Something with the latest batch of changes has caused an error that's causing something to get messed up somewhere. Here is the error I get - this is NOT the one that appears initially on login, but the one that shows up when I then attempt to type "/wa" to bring up the interface:

Will this be updated for 7.2, or does it work with 7.2 right now even though it hasn't been updated? I have so many addons that I don't really want to install it if it won't work, as I know I'll never remember to remove the damn thing.

It's kinda weird to use at first but it'll definitely get the job done (I'm out of Dominos bars!) and I'm sure I'll get used to it... except for one thing -- why can't I change the size of icons? I see the resize thing that gives you two sliders but they both just seem to change the spacing between icon spaces on a bar. It sort of seems like the top slider might have been meant for icon size but isn't working?

Are you planning on updating this for 7.2, or should it already be working for it regardless of any addon updates?

It's showing up in the Curse Client for me, although it is strange that the "Install via Client" button isn't showing up here on the website.

I was about to install this (currently on 7.2) before reading your comment -- I couldn't quite tell if you were saying there are issues with the addon, or that it works fine in-game aside from these website issues. Is the addon working alright for you? I can't imagine it'd be easy to break this one as it's so simple and lightweight, that there'd have to be some significant change to looting for it to stop functioning, but you never know. Is this still working as intended on live?

Is there no fix for this?

For a long time now I cannot complete searches; if I go to the Search tab and select "General" and type in an item name, it loads as if its searching and I get no results. It's just a blank results pane. If I rescan, I can see it going through the pages (the right number of pages, too) but once it finishes there's just nothing there. I've tried with the "Exact name" button checked or unchecked and no, I'm not typo-ing the item name. Sometimes if I log on to a new toon it will work once or twice before it stops. Please help? I've reinstalled the addon, I've done everything I can think of -- having to manually scroll through 50+ pages every time I want to buy something is killing me.

Also, the tooltips overlapping still happens.

Is there any way that, on the damage meter listing, I can toggle a way to have OVERALL raid DPS as the top-most line? I could do this on skada and recount, and I'd really like a way to have "line one" always be overall raid DPS. Pleeaaase?
