 Testerino is a mod made to test out ideas, mainly involving customization of World Generation.

 

Currently the main features revolve around 'Better Schematics' as I like to call them. (I may come up with a better name later, probably.) They are a version of schematics similar to MCEdit schematics, but work in-game and have modded and TileEntity support. They do not yet support other Entities or Microblocks/Multipart.

 

Commands:

  • Export
    • Usage: /export <x1> <y1> <z1> <x2> <y2> <z2> <name>
    • Exports a Better Schematic to (minecraftInstance)/Structures/<name>.nbt
  • Import
    • Usage: /import <x> <y> <z> <name> <ignoreAir:true|false>
    • Imports an exported Better Schematic by it's name without a file extension at the end
    • Only works for Better Schematics in your (minecraftInstance)/Structures/ folder
  • Convert
    • Usage: /covert <input file> <output file>
    • Converts MCEdit Schematic files (.schematic) to BetterSchematic files (.nbt)
    • File path can be shortened by using "$mcDir" for your Minecraft Directory (or the Minecraft Server folder)

Other Features:

  • StructureGen
    • Inside of your (minecraftInstance)/StructureGen/ folder, you can add custom JSON files that allow you to generate Better Schematics from your (minecraftInstance)/Structures/ folder in the world. This can be either random or at exact coordinates in specific dimensions.

    • An example file for random generation is here (1.7.10 and 1.8.9):

  • Fake Air (Block)
    • Useful for if you want a structure to ignore air, but still have air generate inside of it
    • When a Better Schematic is generated, it will generate all Fake Air blocks as regular air
